The Affect of Breeding for Human Appeal

Here in this section we will not only be introducing over-bred animals, but introducing animals who have only one purpose, and that purpose is to serve or please humans

The Pug

Pugs are a very well known dog breed, they're known for their big eyes, curly tail, and small short face. But a lot of these well-known features unfortunately cause many major health problems. Pugs have a narrow nasal cavity causing them to have breathing problems. They're curled tail causes them to have spina bifida, which could have the dog paralyzed in the lower legs or in need of a wheelchair. Their big eyes unfortunately make pugs more prone to eye ulcers or eye infections. They can commonly have Chronic brain inflammation, which is a major cause of seizures or blindness. They have bone and joint problems due to their stubby short like figure. A side of pugs no new pug owner knows.

Bambino cat

Bambino cats are a new cat breed that has both the hairless sphynx and the short-legged munchkin. These cats alone have many health problems like skin infections (from sphynx side), Pectus excavatum, Lordosis, Hereditary myopathy (sphynx side), and Osteoarthritis (from munchkin side). These issuse affects their musculoskeletal system which refers to their movement with their muscules and sketon. They have all these health problems because people love how are cute/unique, cuddly, and their personality.

Bichon Frise

bichon frise

The Bichon Frise is a dog that wasn't bred for hunting but human companionship. This dog was so popluar in the past to the point royals loved the dog as well, later on they were known as circus animals and performers just because of how cute they were and how easy it was to teach them tricks. Now just because they look cute doesn't mean they don't have any health issues like joint problems (which included hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament injuries, and patella luxation), cataracts (cloudly vision), ear infections, skin disease, portosystemic shunt (a liver disorder more pron to Bichons), and obesity.
