Mistreatment of Animals

Fila brasileiro

The Brazilian Mastiff, otherwise known as Fela Brasiliero, is a dog known for its size, and aggression, although they can also be a loyal and hardworking dog. They are illegal to breed and own in several countries. Due to the over breeding these dogs have gone through they have faced many health issues such as hip and elbow dysplasia, gastric torsion, PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), luxating patella, panosteitis, osteochondritis, and hereditary cancer. These dogs arent very common in the U.S. so it could be difficult to find. The Fela Brasiliero are dogs that need to be trained when they are young and need socialization.
